In a first-of-its-kind event, Paper Matters by IPMA (Indian Paper Manufacturers Association) successfully hosted the ‘Grand Duos of Goa’ event in Saligao, Goa. This innovative, on-ground activation brought together grandparents and their grandchildren for a unique art and papercraft workshop and competition, where paper took centre stage. In an atmosphere charged with nostalgia and excitement, the event rekindled cherished childhood memories as the participants bonded over the timeless art of making handmade creations from paper. The event was held at the Bookworm Trust & Library in Saligao, Goa. “We are pleased with the response to our first on-ground Paper Matters event, hosted in Goa,” observed Rohit Pandit, secretary general, IPMA. “The biggest takeaway was striking an emotional chord in grandparents and their grandchildren through a playful activity involving paper. Paper Matters by IPMA will continue to implement a ‘phygital’ strategy to drive awareness and a love for paper, especially among the youth.” Paper Matters is an initiative by IPMA dedicated to all paper enthusiasts. With Goa selected as the launch venue, the workshop was held in collaboration with Jane D’Souza of KookyKuriosity, a Goa-based social media influencer, blogger and creative specialist. It celebrates the goodness of paper and highlights its positive impact on our lives and the environment. This initiative of Paper Matters aims to reconnect people of all ages with the love for paper through on-ground, local events across the country.
