Arete group launches Phase II of Payal Industrial Park at Dahej
Published on

India’s private industrial infrastruc-ture landscape is expanding by leaps and bounds. And Arete group, one of Gujarat’s leading business conglom-erates, is a key player in the field. And, now, it has announced the launch of Phase II of its Payal Industrial Park (PIP) at Dahej, within the Petroleum, Chemicals & Petrochemicals Investment Region (PCPIR). Spread across 850 acres, phase II expands on the success of Phase I and marks a significant step in the group’s commitment to creating a modern, ESG-aligned industrial ecosystem.

The Arete group will invest about R1,200 crore in overall infrastructure development in the park across multiple phases. Phase II has been built upon the robust infrastructure and indus-trial momentum of Phase I, which attracted over R12,000 crore in capital investment. With Phase II, Arete group expects to surpass the previous investment benchmark, unlocking opportunities across specialty chemicals, advanced materials, green energy, and allied manufacturing sectors.

The launch event also marked the inauguration of the Central Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) at PIP – a crit-ical infrastructure milestone towards sustainable industrialisation. The CETP, which has been inaugurated in Phase I with a capacity of 2.5 mld (expand-able to 50 mld), will help the industry in waste management initiatives. It will drastically reduce the compliance bur-den on tenant industries with lenient inlet norms and deep-sea discharge connectivity.

“With the launch of Phase II and the inauguration of our CETP, we reaffirm our commitment to building a world-class, future-ready and ESG-aligned industrial ecosystem,” said Siraj Saiyed, director, Arete group, while speaking at the launch. “PIP is not just a park, it is a platform that empowers global and Indian manufacturers with infrastructure that is
sustainable, smart and self-sufficient. We are grateful for the unwavering support of the govern-ment of
Gujarat and inspired by the prime minister’s vision of industrial transformation.”

“One of the main offerings of indus-trial parks is to improve operational efficiency for industries,” announced Virender Kumar, VP, marketing, Arete group. “PIP illustrates this by its ‘plug-and-play’ model. We offer essential amenities such as internal infrastruc-ture, water and gas supply, and cen-tralised utilities like CETP for waste management. These features minimise downtime, boost productivity and cre-ate a secure environment tailored to the unique needs of each enterprise. This kind of readiness enables companies to scale up without getting bothered by infrastructural challenges”.

PIP, which is zoned for hazardous chemical industries and boasts plug-and-play infrastructure, continues to attract marquee global and Indian players, including Altana AG, Perfect Day Inc, Silox group, Hindalco Indus-tries, Gharda Chemicals and Yasho Industries. The park is also aligned with national development policies such as ‘Make in India’ and PM Gati Shakti and features infrastructure like dedicated utility corridors, smart meters, green hydrogen readiness and a 55 MW solar captive plant.

Sustainability Conclave

On this occasion, Arete group has organised the PIP Sustainability Con-clave 2025, bringing together global industry leaders, policymakers, and infrastructure innovators to deliberate on the future of sustainable manufac-turing. The conclave showcased Arete’s commitment to an ESG-first develop-ment philosophy and featured expert panels on decarbonisation pathways, green infrastructure and the transition toward clean energy. Attendees were given a walkthrough of the PIP Expe-rience Centre and participated in an immersive park tour highlighting green manufacturing initiatives.

PIP’s sustainability approach is anchored in four foundational pillars: economic development, environmental stewardship, social equity and transpar-ent governance. As part of its green road-map, Arete Group has partnered with Fourier Earth, a Palo Alto-based hydro-gen start-up, to generate green hydrogen using modular, on-site units powered by renewable energy. The park also plans to set up a steam boiler facility with a tran-sition plan from coal to biomass, aiming to reduce emissions and produce green steam. PIP has committed to becoming carbon neutral in operational emissions by 2040.

Additionally, the park is spearhead-ing the 25,000 trees project, pledging to plant 25,000 trees and develop over 250 acres of green spaces Sustainability Conclave including parks, grasslands and urban forests – over the next decade. These efforts are expected to gener-ate up to 10,000 tCO in annual carbon sequestration.
