The all-new MINI Countryman C SUV has made its entry into the Indian market. Produced at the Chennai plant, it is available in India for Rs47,50,000. Currently, the carmaker offers the MINI Cooper S, MINI Cooper S Convertible, MINI Countryman and the all-electric MINI Countryman. The latest addition to the MINI line-up is the MINI Countryman C.

According to a Mordor Intelligence report, the Indian luxury car market is expected to grow from $1.44 billion in 2025 to $1.52 billion in 2026 and is forecast to reach $1.96 billion by 2031. A widening preference gap now shapes demand, with battery-electric cars expected to expand at a CAGR of 21.98 per cent through 2031. Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) led the Indian luxury car market with a 47.43 per cent share in 2025. By region, West India retained a 32.94 per cent share of the Indian luxury car market in 2025, whereas South India is poised to record the highest CAGR of 11.27 per cent through 2031.

“The all-new MINI Countryman C is definitively ‘a new kind of BIG’. It beautifully evolves the traditional MINI silhouette into a commanding SUV with a bold look and a highly practical cabin tailored for family adventures, all while remaining entirely true to our iconic go-kart feeling. We are thrilled that this car will now be made in India, strategically strengthening the portfolio and offering an absolutely great value proposition. MINI is a highly aspirational brand for modern, urban Indian luxury customers. The MINI Countryman C is tailor-made for individuals who demand robust utility and everyday versatility, but still want to make a distinct, expressive statement,” explains Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO, BMW Group India.

Ease of finance and other benefits

BMW India Financial Services offers customised and flexible financial solutions tailored to individual requirements. Customers can enjoy great value and complete peace of mind with MINI Smart Finance and book a new MINI Countryman C at a monthly instalment of Rs56,990 with zero down payment. A standout benefit is the best-in-segment assured buyback value of up to 66 per cent at the end of 3 years, offering enhanced financial confidence and clarity with flexible end-of-term options. Further, the purchase can be enhanced and customised by financing MINI Service Inclusive, MINI Secure and Extended Warranty packages.

Looking ahead to 2026 and beyond, Brar outlined the company’s plans. “First, the expanded Countryman range with the ICE variant opens doors to a whole new set of customers. It’s the perfect blend of substance, style and smart pricing. And as we mentioned, this is the SUV from MINI. Second, we are growing our footprint. MINI’s network will be doubled by the end of this year. We are expanding to ten new touchpoints this year in eight new cities: Jaipur, Jodhpur, Lucknow, Ranchi, Guwahati, Surat and

Vijayawada,” explains Brar. “These are the markets we are going to. And we are already there in Kochi and Calicut. By the end of 2026, MINI will be present in 21 outlets across 19 cities. And wherever you go, MINI has your back, thanks to access to BMW Group India’s after-sales network, with a presence in 39 cities. All of this together sets us up for an exciting year ahead for the MINI brand,” adds Brar.

The MINI Countryman C offers an innovative and efficient petrol engine powered by the latest MINI TwinPower Turbo technology. It mobilises a peak output of 115 kW/156 hp and produces a maximum torque of 240 Nm. The Intelligent Personal Assistant (IPA) can be activated by saying ‘Hey MINI’ to control a wide range of functions such as navigation, telephony, entertainment and more. The Digital Key Plus turns a smartphone into a car key via the MINI App and can be transferred to different users, along with their personal vehicle settings. Advanced assistance systems such as Cruise Control and Parking Assistant Plus with a 360-degree camera increase comfort, control and safety. With a Euro NCAP safety rating of five stars, it offers top-tier safety for its occupants with all the necessary features.

Demand from high-net-worth individuals (HNIs) and younger buyers is expected to further increase luxury car sales in India. The German carmaker is aggressively expanding BMW’s MINI brand in India. In 2025, it sold 730 units and expects to increase sales in 2026 through a variety of initiatives across the country
