By S.M. Boothem

Goodyear India, as part of its corporate social initiatives, is supporting Faridabad Civil Hospital and Government Medical College & Hospital in Aurangabad with Personal Protective and Quarantine Ward Equipment. This initiative will help strengthen public health system’s response to COVID-19 pandemic, which is the need of the hour today. The project is being implemented by Americares India Foundation.

Under this partnership, Goodyear India is supporting both hospitals in Faridabad and Aurangabad by donating critical equipment to treat COVID-19 patients. These include bedside ventilators, multipara monitors, pulse oximeters amongst others. Goodyear India is also helping the facility’s frontline staff by providing them with the critical personal protective gear such as PPE Kits, N95 Mask, 3 Ply masks and sanitizers. Both Civil Hospital in Faridabad as well as Government Medical College & Hospital at Aurangabad are known and dedicated facilities for COVID-19 patients. A team of well-trained medical and non-medical staff and experienced technicians at both the hospitals have been working 24x7 to treat COVID -19 patients. Americares India Foundation will help in distribution of this equipment and ensure that these are properly used at the facility.

“Goodyear’s support in these unprecedented times of Covid 19 will help strengthen the burdened public healthcare system. Our objective is to help enable a safer and healthier country, and with the support of Americares India Foundation, we hope to make a difference to the community in and around us.  These are indeed challenging times and therefore, a collaborative and participatory approach is needed to address the challenges that this pandemic has unleashed upon us”, said Sandeep Mahajan, MD, Goodyear India. Faridabad and Aurangabad have witnessed more than 45,000 and 48,000 COVID-19 cases respectively. As a result, both the COVID-19 dedicated hospitals are facing huge patient burden and need critical equipment support on urgent basis.
