ION Energy's platform enhances the life and performance of lithium-ion batteries

By Business India Editorial

ION Energy is a battery management and intelligence platform that enhances the life and performance of lithium-ion batteries used for electric vehicles and energy storage systems. It uses disruptive technology that blends battery data, software analytics and ai to monitor and improve battery life and performance. Through its technologies, ION is enabling EV and energy storage space providers to unlock the power of battery data.

Battery pack oems, manufacturers, and electric mobility fleet operators all require optimisation of their battery management systems (BMS). This platform offers its customers the complete functionality and flexibility needed to maintain the battery’s performance and acquire a higher RoI.

ION’s expertise in energy storage and technology has helped devise a software-first approach and a unique electronics platform that offers full autonomy for manufacturing, transparency in technology and 30-40 per cent savings, enabling organisations to buy or build custom BMS models.

Within a year of its inception, ION Energy acquired an 8-year-old French BMS developer, Freemens SAS, in a first-of-its-kind cross-border acquisition. Since then, ion has commercialised its flagship bms platform approaching organisations in Southeast Asia, North America and Europe.

ION recently launched EDISON Analytics, a futuristic, cloud-hosted battery lifecycle management platform. For li-ion batteries, it is designed to leverage usage data to identify patterns, predict life degradation, provide prognostic alerts and send over-the-air updates to extend battery life by up to 40 per cent.

Founded in 2016 by Akhil Aryan and Alexandre Collet, ION’s mission is to accelerate Earth’s transition to an all-electric planet. Headquartered in the US with significant operations arched out to India and France, ION is led by highly adept Ph.D. engineers from acclaimed universities.
