Cygni Energy specialises in solar power backup and DC (direct-current) Microgrid solutions. The company specialises in inverterless technology and rooftop solar solutions.

Cygni’s flagship product, Inverterless Systems, is one of the most efficient photovoltaic power backup systems available in the market. It offers up to 40 per cent less power consumption and 50 per cent reduction in electricity bills. About 30-40 per cent of the energy losses which happen due to conversion are beyond the customers’ control, which can be reduced by using DC-based solution. The system comes integrated with a mobile application, which helps you monitor energy consumption, which in turn will enable you to control your energy usage. The solution is not just limited to rural households but is robust enough to handle urban homes and their backup needs.

Solar-DC Inverterless is a technology that provides 48 v DC to power appliances. With a growing emphasis on energy conservation – more DC appliances are now available – most homes in the world will gradually move to DC power. Cygni believes there is a better way to power homes and businesses at a lower cost while contributing to a cleaner planet.

The company owns and manages solar supply chains. So far, Cygni has 45,000 installed systems in 10 states including Assam, Manipur, Rajasthan and Jammu & Kashmir. These ibis systems currently operate in hostile weather conditions of high humidity in Assam, low temperature in J&K and high temperature in Rajasthan making it resilient to various climatic changes.

The company recently entered a partnership with SOLshare to facilitate the integration of the installation of solar P2P grids in Assam.

Cygni Energy is led by Venkat Rajaraman, from IIT-Madras. Rajaraman and his colleagues put their heads together to create this new technology with the hope of bringing clean and affordable energy to remote villages in Northeast India and Jammu and Kashmir – where energy scarcity is real. The company is also excited to introduce to the global energy market this new alternative to carbon-heavy fuels.
