TrucksUp offers a solution to the problem of underutilisation of trucks

“The idea of this start-up came up after observing a major problem in India’s logistic space -- how the trucking industry in India suffers from low asset utilisation, a lack of access to diverse load sources, drivers’ working conditions and mismatch of supply and demand,” observes Sarthak Elwadhi, co-founder, TrucksUp. A bachelor’s degree in supply chain & logistics management from RMIT University in Australia helped Elwadhi gain valuable insights into the global trucking ecosystem. Also, his experiences abroad helped him observe the standards of living and quality of amenities provided to overseas truck drivers, shaping his perspective on the improvements needed within the Indian trucking industry.

On returning from Australia, Elwadhi embarked on a journey to understand the Indian trucking industry more deeply. He conducted in-depth research and spent time on the ground with truck drivers, involving himself in their daily routines. This hands-on approach helped him identify the key pain points and challenges faced by drivers and gain an understanding of the industry’s landscape. This grassroots experience also illuminated the critical mismatch in the supply and demand of trucks across the country, largely due to the lack of timely demand information.

“That specific challenge ignited the thought of TrucksUp to find a solution to solve the problem of underutilisation of trucks, supply-demand mismatches and inefficiencies in truckload allocation,” says Elwadhi.

Elwadhi: empowering small fleet owners

With the AI aggregator platform TrucksUp, Elwadhi aims to redefine the trucking experience in India and transform the Indian logistics industry. The logistics business in India is fragmented and full of challenges. The company aims to bridge the significant supply-demand gap in the trucking industry, ensuring that truck owners and shippers can efficiently connect and optimise their operations by providing truck owners with timely reverse loads, which will reduce their running costs and ultimately the overall logistics cost, while increasing profitability.

Here, technology is merged with traditional practices to create a more efficient, data-driven environment for all stakeholders involved. With the app, TrucksUp empowers small fleet owners, single owners and drivers with smart implementation.

TrucksUp’s abilities were especially appreciable during the month-end spike experienced in parts of the country. TrucksUp helped to mitigate the aforementioned excess demand by leveraging its expansive database of trucks. “Importantly, by reducing logistics costs, improving the country’s ranking in the Logistics Performance Index and helping create a data-driven ecosystem, TrucksUp’s mission is in line with the national logistics policy of India.”

A one-stop solution

Additionally, TrucksUp is a one-stop solution for all trucking needs of single owners and fleet owners, providing additional services, namely insurance, GPS and SIM tracking, truck finance, fuel card, vehicle verification, purchase and sale of trucks, FAStag and more”, adds Elwadhi. TrucksUp wants to make every driver an owner, every fleet owner to expand, and every shipper to increase his reach. It is all possible using one app.

The logistics aggregator works as a great support system, enhancing the visibility of business associates, allowing them to tap into a larger pool of trucks to manage demand fluctuations effectively and increase their business to new heights that would not have been possible by traditional means. The company’s sharp focus to improve drivers’ quality of life is a credible proposition that sets it apart in the market. TrucksUp helps to get finance from NBFCs, buy insurance, buy FASTag and GPS, conduct SIM-based tracking, verify vehicles online and get a fuel card, as also buy and sell trucks.

TrucksUp has raised Rs20 crore in funding to date. This capital has enabled the company to accelerate platform development, expand its nationwide network of truck owners and fleet operators, invest in advanced digital infrastructure and enhance value-added services, such as real-time tracking and financial solutions. In Q2 2025-26, TrucksUp achieved a total income of Rs2.26 crore – a 28.09 per cent increase from Rs1.76 crore achieved in Q1 2025-26, while its operating revenue grew even faster by 36.66 per cent to Rs2.23 crore.
