The recently concluded Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 set a roadmap for the future of mobility

The prestigious Auto Expo, now rebranded as Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, was held between 17-22 January 2025. It was a landmark event uniting the entire Indian automotive and mobility ecosystem under one roof across three premier venues – Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Yashobhoomi in Dwarka, and India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. The event was coordinated by the Engineering Export Promotion Council India (EEPC India) with the joint support of various industry bodies and partner organisations, including SIAM, ACMA, IESA, ATMA, ISA, NASSCOM, ICEMA, AICMA, MRAI, ITPO, Invest India, IBEF, CII, and IEML. It brought together key players from sectors such as automotive manufacturing, e-mobility, construction equipment, battery technology, urban mobility, and software innovation, offering a comprehensive showcase of India’s mobility value chain. The event also highlighted major issues such as sustainability, decarbonisation, and technology.

The Expo was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi recalled the contribution of legends Ratan Tata and Osamu Suzuki, saying their legacy would inspire the mobility sector. “The entire mobility industry, the
whole government, and the whole nation have come together for this expo.” He further added: “Driven by the aspirations of the people and energy of the youth, India’s automobile sector is witnessing an unprecedented transformation.”

“Two lakh square metres at three venues is being fully used for the Bharat Mobility show. Bharat Mobility is showcasing India’s story to the world, and it has become the second-largest automotive expo in the world,” said Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, at the inauguration. “The expo has brought the value chain of the mobility ecosystem – automobiles to auto-related components – under a single umbrella. India has become the largest manufacturer of three-wheelers and tractors in the world and also holds the top spot as a two-wheel market globally,” added Goyal.

KIA EV

Cars

Maruti Suzuki made its maiden entry into the EV segment by introducing the eVITARA, an SUV. The price of the car will be announced later. Hyundai Motor India launched the much-anticipated Hyundai CRETA Electric at an introductory price of Rs17.99 lakh. JSW MG Motors expanded its NEV portfolio with the MG Cyberster and MG M9. Introduced under the newly launched luxury brand channel MG Select, these models exemplify the company’s vision of intelligent, sustainable, and customer-centric mobility. Additionally, the carmaker showcased nine advanced models, including the MG Majestor. The products included Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs), Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), and Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles. Highlights included the IM5 sedan, IM6 electric SUV, MG HS PHEV, and MG7 Trophy Edition, showcasing cutting-edge technology and sustainable mobility. Tata Motors launched the all-new Tata Sierra, a modern iteration of the legendary vehicle that combines timeless design with cutting-edge technology, embodying the perfect balance of style, functionality, and sustainability.

Kia India unveiled the new Kia EV6, equipped with the advanced ADAS 2.0 package, featuring 27 cutting-edge safety and driver-assistance features. Škoda Auto India showcased a striking lineup of eight ICE and EV models from its Indian and global portfolio. Products included the Škoda Kylaq, Škoda Kylaq (accessorised), Škoda Kushaq Monte Carlo, the all-new Škoda Kodiaq, the all-new Škoda Superb, the facelifted Škoda Octavia vRS, Škoda Elroq, and the Škoda Vision 7S. BYD India launched the BYD SEALION 7 Pure Performance eSUV. Additionally, BYD India showcased the BYD SEALION 6, the BYD Super Plug-in Hybrid EV with DM-i technology, and the Yangwang U8. VinFast Auto India, a new player, announced its entry with the launch of its first two electric vehicles, the all-electric premium SUVs VF 7 and VF 6. Vayve Mobility launched India’s first solar electric car, ‘Eva’ at an introductory price of Rs3.25 lakh. The solar electric car will be available in three different options: 9 kilowatt-hour (kWh), 12 kWh, and 18 kWh, with prices ranging between Rs3.25 lakh and Rs5.99 lakh.

In the luxury car segment, BMW India unveiled the BMW X1 Long Wheelbase All Electric, marking its first locally produced EV. Priced at Rs49 lakh, the SUV is powered by the eDrive20L drivetrain with 204 hp, 250 Nm torque, and a 531 km MIDC range. BMW also launched the all-new MINI Cooper S John Cooper Works Pack at an ex-showroom price of Rs55.90 lakh and the BMW X3 at an ex-showroom price of Rs75.80 lakh to Rs77.80 lakh. Mercedes-Benz launched its exquisite luxury BEV, the EQS Maybach SUV 680 ‘Night Series,’ priced at Rs2.63 crore, along with the Maybach GLS 600 at Rs3.71 crore. Porsche India unveiled two groundbreaking Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), the all-new Macan SUV and the updated Taycan sports saloon, showcasing the brand’s commitment to sustainability and innovation. The Macan BEV is available in three variants: Macan (Rs1.21 crore), Macan 4S (Rs1.39 crore), 

Two- and three-wheelers

A leader in two-wheelers, Hero MotoCorp unveiled a series of new vehicles and initiatives, marking its entry into the 250cc motorcycle segment with the Xtreme 250R and enhancing its adventure lineup with the Xpulse 210. In the scooter category, the company introduced the Xoom 125 and Xoom 160. Additionally, Hero showcased its first flex-fuel motorcycle, the ethanol-based Hero HF Deluxe, and presented the VIDA V2 e-scooter. Suzuki Motorcycle India unveiled three products, including the e-ACCESS, Suzuki’s first electric scooter, the all-new Access 125, and the GIXXER SF 250 Flex Fuel, India’s first E85-compliant sports bike, promoting ethanol-based mobility.

Greaves Cotton introduced premium variants of the Ampere Nexus, including the Race and Executive editions. The company also unveiled the ‘Xyber’ e-motorcycle, offering a certified range of up to 200 km per charge with fast-charging capability. Numeros Motors launched its multipurpose and reliable e-scooter, ‘Diplos Max,’ at an introductory price of Rs1,09,999, including the PM e-drive scheme. Alongside, the company unveiled another unique platform: India’s first bike-scooter crossover. Godawari Electric unveiled new additions to its product portfolio – the Eblu Feo Z, Eblu Feo DX, and the Eblu Rozee ECO. The Eblu Rozee ECO is priced at Rs2,95,999. Motovolt Mobility unveiled a range of electric vehicles, including the Hyper One, India’s first digital pedal motorbike, and the HUM NYC, a multi-utility speed pedelec tailored for demanding last-mile delivery needs. The versatile M7 and its sporty variant, M7 Rally, cater to both logistics and personal commuting, while the innovative CLIP, a portable e-bike conversion kit, enables seamless e-mobility for existing bicycles. OPG Mobility (formerly known as Okaya EV) launched the EV scooter Ferrato DEFY 22.

BMW Motorrad India launched two new bikes in the Indian market: the new BMW S 1000 RR and the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure. The S 1000 RR supersport bike will be available in India at an introductory price starting from Rs21,10,000, while the price of the R 1300 GS Adventure (Base) starts at Rs22,95,000.

Commercial vehicles

VE Commercial Vehicles unveiled the Eicher Pro X Range marking its entry into the 2-3.5T Small Commercial Vehicle (SCV) segment. This electric-first range, co-created with logistics leaders, redefines mid- and last-mile logistics. Eka Mobility showcased India’s largest-ever range of electric commercial vehicles, which includes over 11 distinct platforms spanning electric buses, trucks, and small commercial vehicles (SCVs). Their bus portfolio included EKA COACH, EKA 12M, EKA 9M, EKA LF (Low Floor), and EKA 9M. Electric Trucks include EKA 55T and EKA 7T, while EKA 3.5T, 2.5T, 1.5T, EKA 3W CARGO, EKA 6S, and EKA 3S were unveiled under their SCV Range. JBM Electric Vehicles launched four all-new electric buses, ranging from a luxury coach and medical mobile unit to an electric tarmac coach, among others. 

Olectra GreenTech unveiled a 12-metre Blade Battery Platform, a nine-metre City Bus, 12-metreCoach Bus, and Blade Battery Chassis. These products are underpinned by cutting-edge technology and inclusive design. Omega Seiki launched the M1KA 1.0 electric truck, priced at Rs6,99,000. The company also unveiled the upcoming M1KA 3.0 model and presented the upgraded 2025 Stream City, a next-generation electric passenger vehicle. Montra Electric (TI Clean Mobility) launched ‘EVIATOR’ (e SCV) and Super Cargo (e three-wheeler) in the presence of the entire leadership team of the brand. 

Hyundai Motor Company launched two concept models of an advanced electric three-wheeler and amicro four-wheeler. They also explored contributions to the last-mile mobility market in India,together with TVS Motor. Pinnacle Industries launched its next-generation ambulance range. The new range includes three cutting-edge ambulance models: AD-Gen Ultra, AD-Gen Ambulance, and Neonatal Ambulance. SML Isuzu launched the Hiroi.EV while presenting four other products, including AASAI MX, Premium Hiroi Bus, ATS-125 multi-stretcher ambulance, and the Samrat XT Plus Tipper.

Auto Components show

The Components Show, held from 18-21 January 2025 at the Yashobhoomi (India International Convention & Expo Centre) in Dwarka, New Delhi, garnered significant participation from domestic and international exhibitors. This comprehensive platform highlighted India’s capabilities in mobility innovation and manufacturing, focusing on future-ready solutions such as electrification, autonomous technologies, and sustainability while showcasing the strength of India’s automotive supply chain. The event was inaugurated by Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, and Jitin Prasada, Union Minister of State of Commerce & Industry and Electronics and Information Technology, in the presence of other industry leaders. Goyal also unveiled the Show Directory, the ACMA Buyers Guide, and the ACMA Report on Transitioning to EVs: Opportunities & Impediments.

Commenting on the occasion, Goyal stated: “The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 reflects the confidence and resilience of India’s auto component industry, a sector that has become the heart of our mobility ecosystem and a net exporter—a remarkable achievement. As we transition to ‘Design and Innovate in India for the world’, we must leverage innovation and technology to build an indigenous EV ecosystem, reduce import dependence, and seize global opportunities. With ambitious targets like $100 billion in exports over the next decade, this industry will play a pivotal role in shaping Viksit Bharat 2047 and establishing India as a global leader in sustainable mobility.”

Vinnie Mehta, Director General of ACMA, added: “India’s automotive sector stands at the forefront of global innovation, and the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, India’s largest-ever components show, is a testament to our commitment to sustainable, advanced, and inclusive mobility. This platform not only showcases the technological prowess of our industry but also empowers emerging manufacturers by fostering collaboration and opening pathways to global markets. Together, we are shaping India’s leadership in green and future-ready mobility, driving a cleaner and more resilient automotive ecosystem.”

The event featured over 1,100 domestic and international exhibitors showcasing more than 100,000 products, attracting 75,000 visitors, including key delegations from Japan, the UK, South Korea, Mexico, and Germany. Over 60 new products and technologies were launched, with a strong emphasis on electric vehicles, components, accessories, and garage equipment, underscoring India’s commitment to sustainable and innovative mobility solutions.

At the closing ceremony, Shradha Suri Marwah, President, ACMA, and CMD, Subros, remarked: “The Components Show is a testament to the readiness of India’s automotive industry to lead in future technologies, particularly in the e-mobility and alternative fuel spaces. The auto component industry, in alignment with OEMs, continues to innovate and evolve to meet the demands of a sustainable and electrified mobility ecosystem.”

Several exhibitors unveiled groundbreaking innovations. ParaSafe, a subsidiary of Paracoat, introduced air bag jackets and vests with integrated airbag systems designed for motorcyclists, delivery personnel, and high-risk users, revolutionising personal safety in mobility. ICON Autocraft launched TruckMaster, an advanced wheel alignment system for trucks and buses; SX 119 Pro Duo LNL, a high-tech tyre changer; and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) for cars. ASK Automotive showcased a cutting-edge range of products, including the debut of the AISIN ASK Product Range, marking its entry into the four-wheeler passenger car aftermarket sector in India and neighbouring countries. Setco Auto Systems and Tata AutoComp Systems also displayed state-of-the-art solutions.

ZF introduced its next-generation digital fleet management platform, SCALAR, in India, aimed at optimising commercial fleet operations for enhanced efficiency, safety, and sustainability. ZF also debuted X-by-Wire technology, which enables greater vehicle customisation and improved safety features. Gestamp revealed an innovative product lineup tailored to the evolving demands of the automotive industry.

Several other companies showcased future-ready solutions: Klüber Lubrication presented sustainable mobility technologies, BorgWarner highlighted LFP battery systems supporting electrification, and ATS ELGI unveiled advanced automotive solutions like the Smart Light – Touchless Aligner and Autorobot – CRS. TEXSPIN displayed components for commercial vehicles, passenger cars, and two and three-wheelers, while Amara Raja announced plans for a giga corridor for lithium-ion battery and cell manufacturing. Together, these innovations reflect India’s dynamic approach to green and future-ready mobility.

Apart from cars, bikes, commercial vehicles, and components, a variety of conferences and other activities took place at the events. SIAM organised the first Summit for Automotive Future Advancement in Road Safety (SAFAR) to drive discussions on innovative solutions for road safety. Another conference on the ‘Changing Paradigm of Global Trade Practices in the Auto Sector’ brought together key government officials, industry leaders, policymakers, and academics to discuss emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities in the automotive trade landscape. The Third International Conference on Sustainable Circularity (ICSC), themed ‘Nature Positive Recycling – Systemic Transformation to Automotive Circular Economy in India’, gathered industry stakeholders to discuss and strategise on integrating circular economy principles into the automotive sector in India. The Nasscom Mobility Tech Pavilion hosted industry leaders from the automotive, technology, and mobility sectors, along with global Engineering Research & Development heads and academia. The pavilion emphasised key themes such as sustainable mobility, robust cybersecurity for connected vehicles, and emerging technologies, positioning India as a frontrunner in shaping the future of mobility.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter reinforced its commitment to road safety through its ‘Value Life, Ride Safe’ initiative. Visitors from all age groups could engage in interactive road safety games, experience real-life scenarios through simulator riding trainers, and participate in slow-riding activities to enhance their skills. Maruti Suzuki India set up a driving simulator under their Road Safety VR Zone to educate the public on safe driving practices.

For adventure lovers, BMW’s outdoor pavilion attracted large crowds with its thrilling drift performance. A dedicated professional driver showcased remarkable skill, executing donuts around a specially designed small circuit. Each session featured a fresh set of drift tyres and a new car out of three, ensuring an exhilarating display of performance.

 The Tyre Pavilion at the India International Tyre Show, organised by the Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association (ATMA), featured leading tyre manufacturers, including Apollo, Bridgestone, Ceat, Goodyear, JK, and MRF, alongside Michelin, Emerald, Ralson, and Rubberking, displaying cutting-edge technologies and innovations. The show also featured raw materials, components, and accessories partners such as Bansal Wires, Epsilon Carbon, Go Green, GRP, Indag, L&T, Madura Textiles, Neo Wheels, Nocil, Parker, Rajrattan, Rubberking, Tata Chemicals, and Sai Commodities. The Rubber Board of India, adjoining the ATMA stall, enhanced the industry’s cohesive presence. Among the highlights was the corner devoted to the INROAD Project, a global first where the tyre industry funds rubber plantations.

Conclusion

Building on the inaugural expo’s performance in 2024, which saw a visitor turnout of 150,000, the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 witnessed exponential growth in terms of visitors, with an impressive net footfall of 983,522 visitors across the three venues. The expo witnessed 239 launches from exhibitors across all the concurrent shows, highlighting the commitment from all industries in the mobility ecosystem for a smart and sustainable mobility future in India. Notably, the expo featured a wide array of presentations and demonstrations by key industry players, showcasing innovations in electric vehicles (EVs), smart city solutions, and autonomous driving technologies.

The event also underscored India’s position as a global leader in the automotive supply chain, with an increasing focus on sustainable manufacturing processes and green technologies. The successful outcome of this year’s event not only exceeded expectations in terms of participation but also demonstrated a unified commitment across the sector to advance the future of mobility.
