Vega Auto Accessories is one of the world’s leading helmet manufacturers and is well known for its premium helmet brand, AXOR. Vega pioneered world-class protection tailored to India’s roads and diverse rider needs. With an annual production capacity of 10 million helmets, the company offers a wide range of products for two-wheeler riders and is expanding into riding apparel, gloves, luggage and accessories. The company serves millions of riders through its extensive distribution network
India is the world’s largest two-wheeler market and a major manufacturing hub for many Indian and international brands. Two-wheeler safety in India is a major public health concern. The most effective safety measures for riders include consistently wearing ISI-certified helmets and strictly adhering to traffic regulations and road safety norms.
To strengthen rider safety and further enhance its brand proposition, Vega Auto has announced a strategic investment in and partnership with Pune-based emergency technology company Tageze Medical ID System, operated by Techsocio Projects LLP. While the financial details of the investment remain undisclosed, the collaboration marks a major step towards integrating digital emergency-response technology with traditional rider safety equipment. The partnership is expected to redefine rider safety in the modern motorcycling ecosystem.
Commenting on the partnership, Kunal Chandak, Director, Vega Auto Accessories, said: “At Vega, rider safety has always been at the core of everything we do. Through our partnership with Tageze, we are looking at safety beyond the helmet itself by enabling faster access to critical information during emergencies. We believe this is an important step towards building a more connected and responsive rider-safety ecosystem.”
New benchmark
For decades, helmets have been designed primarily to protect riders during an accident. Through this collaboration, Vega and Tageze aim to extend that protection beyond the point of impact by enabling faster identification, improved emergency response and quicker access to critical medical information when every second matters. Industry experts believe this convergence of physical protection and digital safety technology could establish a new benchmark for rider-safety standards in India and international markets.
The need for such solutions has become increasingly relevant as motorcycling communities continue to grow worldwide. Today’s riders frequently participate in group rides, long-distance tours, adventure expeditions and daily commuting. However, in the event of a serious accident, fellow riders or bystanders often have limited knowledge of the injured person’s family contacts, medical conditions, allergies, blood group, insurance information or emergency requirements. This lack of readily available information can create delays during critical moments.
Tageze addresses this challenge through its Medical ID System, allowing riders to securely store emergency medical and identification information linked to a QR-enabled Medical ID sticker placed on their helmet. In an emergency, first responders or nearby individuals can access life-saving information using a standard smartphone camera without requiring any additional application. By ensuring that critical information is available when needed most, the system helps riders focus on enjoying their journeys with greater peace of mind, knowing that emergency information can be accessed quickly should an unforeseen situation arise.
“Our mission has always been to make life-saving information accessible when it matters most. Partnering with Vega allows us to expand the reach of this technology and bring emergency preparedness closer to riders across India and global markets,” added Deepak Gaikwad, Founder & CEO, Tageze Medical ID System.
The partnership also reflects a broader industry shift towards integrating digital technologies with traditional safety equipment. By combining rider protection with emergency preparedness, both companies aim to contribute to improved safety outcomes for motorcyclists.
Vega’s international presence continues to strengthen, with exports reaching more than 35 countries across Asia, Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and other global markets. AXOR is regarded as one of India’s most recognised premium helmet brands among touring and performance motorcycle riders.
